Morning! The Guardian, Mystic, Artificer, Assassin and Crusader have all got some new job technique updates. Had a lot of fun designing the artificer gadgets and how they'll work. Minions and summoned creatures have always been a big pain for a lot of tabletop games, so having the opportunity to tackle this topic in Dragon Spark is a fun challenge. In this run at it, I tried to avoid summoned robot allies gaining more actions for the character, requiring more rolls or tracking a whole other stat block during battle. Instead I focused more on the robots assisting the Artificer, granting bonuses while they were on the field with them. If players come across enemy Artificers, I think it'll be wise to try to take out their "pawns" before they get too buffed out by their bonuses. I'll be throwing in an Artificer in the next play test, for sure.
Also, I'm taking a stab at the idea of getting rid of most buff durations. If you get a Attack Up 2, you have that for the rest of the fight! If opponents have ways to debuff you, they better act on it. I believe that in a game where the goal of a battle is not always, "wipe out the opponent", having boosts to stats for the duration of a battle (3-6 rounds) isnt breaking the game, but giving players a good feeling of building up every round.
